Mica is a strategic communications and public affairs strategist. He works with clients to ensure that communications are aligned with core organizational goals and that messaging is relevant to the right audiences and stakeholders. He was most recently the chief communications officer at the University of New Hampshire where he led the in-house agency that included writers, social media, media relations, digital, creative and government relations. His team was responsible for promoting and stewarding the brand and leading campaigns to support enrollment, fundraising, research and leadership priorities. Throughout his career, he has been a trusted advisor to leaders on executive and crisis communications. Mica has also directed state and federal government relations efforts to achieve important institutional goals.
Away from work, Mica can be found exploring his home state of New Hampshire with his wife and two teenage sons looking for swimming holes. An avid golfer, he has also launched a new podcast, Granite State Golfers, which highlights the top golfers in New Hampshire. His top 5 CliftonStrengths are: responsibility, deliberative, learner, achiever and analytical. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and his master’s degree from Michigan State University. Mica has served on several nonprofit boards ranging from City Year New Hampshire to the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation and currently serves on the board of Leadership New Hampshire.
